The U.S. Army has a new weapon to brag about the XM25 or "The Punisher" as it has been nicknamed, field tests began late in 2010 and it has already been brought into battle in 2011.

This weapon uses laser sighting to determine the distance to the target and the 25 mm grenades are set to explode in mid air or on contact. This is decided by the user who can manually adjust, within 10 feet, when they want the grenade to explode.

Developer Richard Audette boasts that this is the first small arm weapon to use smart technology and paves the way for future weapons
